xAI bid at 41¢ but zero trades as GTC chip news goes unpriced on Kalshi
THE MISPRICING
The xAI contract (KXTOPAI-27-JAN01-XAI) sits at a bid of 41¢ / ask of 44¢ with zero open interest and no 24-hour volume — a spread reflecting market-maker initialization, not informed conviction. The ByteDance contract (KXTOPAI-27-JAN01-BYTE) shows a bid of 12¢ / ask of 18¢, and Z.ai (KXTOPAI-27-JAN01-ZAI) shows a bid of 4¢ / ask of 11¢, both also untraded. None of Nvidia’s March 16, 2026 GTC announcements have been absorbed by active participants in any of these three contracts.
THE CONTRACT
Resolution requires sole #1 ranking on the LMSYS Chatbot Arena Leaderboard Overall Arena Elo (UB) for any single day before January 1, 2027. A tie does not satisfy the criterion, though sole leadership on any other qualifying day still resolves YES. The daily check time could not be verified.
THE COMPARABLE
Jensen Huang projected $1 trillion in sales for Blackwell and Vera Rubin through 2027, against Nvidia’s entire fiscal 2025 revenue of approximately $130 billion. The Vera Rubin system delivers approximately 10 times more performance per watt than its Grace Blackwell predecessor. The organizations behind all three contracts — xAI, ByteDance, and Z.ai — are downstream consumers of the chip supply Nvidia controls, and the competitive ranking implications of Vera Rubin access are not yet reflected in any of these orderbooks.
THE RISK TO THE CALL
The single strongest risk across all three contracts is the tie-exclusion rule. Frontier LLM rankings on LMSYS have historically clustered tightly.
